How do you dye a purse (it’s either linen or cotton)?

So i got this purse, and I absolutely love the style and everything. But the thing is, it’s blue tie-dye. Personally, I like the blue coloring, but I’m afraid it’s too vibrant, especially considering the fact that everyone in my town is so uptight and conformist. I’m thinking of dying it one solid color, probably the darker blue that’s already in it, but I’m not sure how to.
