What is the best way to dye a pashmina scarf?

Mine is light grey, and there are some stains that the dry cleaner can’t get out. I want to dye it dark/navy blue. Would RIT work, or is there something better for this type of fabric?

There is a thread about dying cashmere from some dyers below. Pashima is a form of cashmere, so I thought it might help.

They say to avoid hot water and agitation, that will “felt” the wool. But there are cold water dyes.
